Hidden away in The Lanes of Brighton is a small vibrant Mexican restaurant that serves no-nonsense delicious Mexican food. A little Mexican restaurant that packs a punch.
You will not be able to miss La Choza with it's bright pink and yellow exterior and inside the restaurant, you are transported to Mexico City as the tables and chairs are surrounded by Mexican-themed decorations, paintings, and ornaments.
The drinks menu includes all sorts of soft and alcoholic drinks, cocktails, and tequila (of course). I chose a Mexican guava soda which was delicious, but I'd love to head back to give some of the cocktails a try.
The menu consists of many different options of burritos, quesadillas, tortillas, salads, and nachos; each with swap and change options to fit your taste.
We started by sharing some Nachos that were topped with refried beans, cheese, pico de gallo salsa, guacamole, sour cream, and jalapeños. They were so tasty and the portion was huge. Then for mains...
First, you can choose a base such as a burrito, soft corn tacos, a quesadilla, etc. then a filling, and finally a salsa. The fillings included slow-cooked spicy beef, chicken and chorizo, king prawns chili lime, and many more. The salsas range from mild to very hot! These meals range from £8.50 to £9.75.
I opted for a quesadilla with chicken and chorizo filling and Green Taco Shop salsa on the side. It was SO delicious. The salsa was tangy and refreshing, and La Choza certainly doesn't skimp on portions. We were stuffed.
La Choza offers lots of delicious vegetarian, lactose-free, and vegan options as well as a kids menu. In addition, La Choza does takeaways and they have another restaurant on Western Road.
