Welcome to my guide to Seville! Last summer I spent a long girls weekend in Seville and I wanted to share what we got up to.
Places To Eat
There are obviously lots of amazing places to eat tapas in Seville, and we certainly got our daily dose of patatas bravas and calamari in several restaurants around the city. However during our weekend we visited two other restaurants that I wanted to share with you if you're looking for something a little different to tapas.
My favourite restaurant of the trip was SENZA. We had walked past it earlier in the day and we loved the look of it and wanted to give it a try that night.
SENZA is a cocktail bar and restaurant with a beautiful interior filled with tropical plants, mirrors and lanterns. I would recommend booking a table as the restaurant is quite small and filled up quickly during the evening.
The cuisine is Mediterranean and there is so much choice. We were given free olives to start which I thought was lovely, and I opted for a pizza as my main. The pizza was delicious with huge crispy base, however I was super jealous of my friend's fresh seafood pasta because it looked incredible! Not only was the food amazing, it wasn't expensive at all. My pizza was only around £12.
As SENZA is also a cocktail bar it would've been rude not to try a cocktail. I tried a 'Pink Donkey' which was made up of Puerto de Indias Gin, Absolut Raspberry Vodka, Strawberry Puree and Royal Bliss Tonic - I would definitely recommend it or giving it try making it at home.
Another Mediterranean restaurant not too far from the cathedral is Las Tablas. The location was so lovely and we were seated outside to enjoy the evening atmosphere. We started by sharing some patatas bravas (of course) and then I had the most amazing burger! The prices again were very affordable as my burger was only around £9, and I just drank some glasses of rose with it.
Things To Do
Royal Alcazar de Sevilla
The Royal Alcazar de Sevilla is a royal palace with lots of history and beautiful gardens. It is certainly worth a visit as the buildings and gardens are stunning and you can take so many amazing photos. There can be large queues but it is worth it. Prices for entry aren't that high, but on Mondays there is free admission which is worth noting, and you can also use student discount on tickets too.
Plaza De Espana
Plaza De Espana is a beautiful plaza built in the late 1920s. The plaza features stunning architecture as well as an impressive fountain and a wonderful half-circle moat. It is a lovely place to walk around, take photographs, and you can also hire a boat to go out on the water.
Catedral de Sevilla
The central point of Seville is the cathedral. The cathedral holds lots of history which you can discover inside. Surrounding the cathedral there are lots of cafes, bars, restaurants, and shops to explore too. You can also hire a segway, or horse and cart, to take a ride around the city.
Metropol Parasol
Metropol Parasol is a must and an amazing experience in Seville. Situated in the Seville old town is the world's largest wooden structure. Take a walk across the contemporary honeycomb-looking parasols to enjoy beautiful panoramic views of the city.
Overall, I would certainly recommend a trip to Seville. We stayed in a lovely Air BnB just about a 20 minute walk from the centre of the city with a lovely balcony area - ideal for evening drinks before going out. The trip was inexpensive and we had such a good time!
The city isn't large so I would say that you could definitely experience a lot of Seville in a weekend trip, although saying that I would happily go back anytime.
Is Seville on your travel wish list?
