Benefits of Making Lists | AD

I am a list lover. Even though I'm not particularly a very organised person (my friends and family will definitely agree with me), but making lists certainly keeps my thoughts in order and they are so handy sometimes. I keep lists for all sorts of situations; shopping lists, holiday packing lists, blog post idea lists, revision lists, bucket lists, and so many different other things!

I usually keep my lists in my notes section on my phone, as I sometimes have thoughts when I'm out and about and therefore I can easily type it into a list on my phone. However I prefer writing lists down on paper and in my numerous different notepads. I was lucky enough to be sent this absolutely beautiful notepad from Chloe Hall Illustration - and I think it is the perfect pad for list making!

I think I have fallen in love with this super cute notepad. Chloe Hall is a small business that creates stationery products with prints and patterns inspired by nature and plants. Chloe Hall is clearly very talented as the illustrated design on the notebook shown above is so quirky and beautiful, and I think it's such a wonderful summery print. This notebook is called the Orange Floral A6 Notebook, and I'm very impressed with the quality of the notebook too. Each of her designs and products has a little personal touch which is lovely!

As I'm off on holiday very soon I thought that it would make the perfect notepad to write out my lists of things I need to buy for holiday and things I need to pack too! There are lots of different positives of writing out lists and plans, and I have decided to share with you some of them in this post.

Reduces Anxiety and Stress

A list will help to ease fears and worries about not completing tasks that you've been meaning to do for a while. As soon as you start writing things down on paper and get it out of your head - your stress levels will decrease.

Prioritize

It is easy to manage tasks effectively. You can see all of the items that you need to get done at a glance and prioritize what needs to be done first according to timelines and importance etc.

Brain Training

It is said that the act of making a list uses parts of your brain that might not normally get used - which is amazing!

Focus

It is a great idea to keep lists of goals, and things you need or want to do. However big or small these aims are, it is a great way to keep you focused. You’ll find that soon you are getting much more done throughout the day!

Stay Motivated

It is a great feeling when you can cross and tick things off of your list - you feel a little sense of accomplishment. This boost of self-esteem really helps to keep you motivated and productive.

Be Organised

I like to get all my thoughts down on paper, and to declutter my mind. It is a great way to remember important thoughts, and to keep your brain focused on what is important.

Jogs Your Memory

If you have a bad memory, or maybe you've just got a lot on at the moment, having a list will help you with not forgetting things.

Overall creating lists has lots of amazing benefits, and with a beautiful notepad or notebook you are more likely to write things down. Make sure you check out Chloe Hall's collection as she also makes beautiful wall prints, phone cases, greetings cards and pin badges!
