Last Sunday my family went out for a lovely meal for celebrate Father's day and the birthday of my beautiful Nana who sadly passed away last year. My uncle decided to go to Trattoria Italiana in Bexhill; a lovely Italian restaurant along by the beach. I had never been to restaurant before, and was certainly looking forward to it as it was a place that my Nana loved and wanted to take us to.
As there was a large number of us, and it was Father's Day, we booked in advance, and we were very glad we did as it was very busy. The table was set beautifully and I couldn't wait to read the menu. A Father's Day set menu was laid out in front of us, with a variety of choices for starter, main and desserts - although there was the option of just ordering off of the normal menu if you didn't like the set menu choices (which made my little sister very happy as she is the, let's say, 'less adventurous' type).
I was impressed with the set menu, and chose my options. I opted for Portobello Mushroom Stuffed with Goats Cheese to start, followed by Breast of Chicken wrapped in Serrano Ham with Shallots, Madeira, Garlic and Parsley, and I finished with Scoops of Lemon Sorbet with Limoncello. My meal was delicious and I was very impressed. My family all enjoyed their meals too, and the staff were very attentive and friendly.
Overall I had a lovely meal at Trattoria Italiana, and I would recommend this little Italian restaurant to anyone near Bexhill. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, and had a wonderful day with my family.
