Finch House Cafe & Bakery

Finch House Café and Bakery was the chosen location for a cute spontaneous trip with my friends last week. Finch House is located in Orpington, and it is such a sweet café and bakery that is perfect for brunches, lunches or coffee and cake catch-ups! The café has recently opened and it was the first time I had popped in.

The interior inside the café and bakery is simplistic, cute and modern. It is very welcoming with a friendly atmosphere, and it is very spaticious (perhaps even too spacious!) Finch House is like a little gem along Orpington High Street and just doesn't really suit its location. The cuteness and tea room-ish (if that's even a word) feel of Finch House suggests to me that it should be situated in a countryside location, or at least anywhere but the noisy, busy and smelly location of Orpington High Street. Nevertheless the café is becoming very successful and it's location doesn't ruin its charm once you are inside.

Feeling rather hungry we scanned over the menu for what to order for lunch. There isn't a massive choice available, but what is available is very yummy and very affordable. I opted for a supreme savoury pancake (savoury pancake!?) which was really delicious and surprisingly filling. My crepe was filled with mushrooms, tomatoes, ham, cheese and spinach, and to accompany my pancake I ordered a mug of latte. Two of my friends also had a savoury pancake, but they chose the all day breakfast filling which contained ingredients such as sausages and bacon, and my other two friends ordered a tomato, mozzarella and chicken calzone. We all enjoyed our lunches as they were fresh and very delicious! My friend then suggested to try their cupcakes as she said they were amazing. As I have been trying to eat healthily recently I bypassed the offer, but my other friends ordered one each. I soon became very jealous as their cakes looked gorgeous and they said they tasted delicious!

I hope to return to Finch House café and bakery soon as it is such a lovely little café to pop into now and then for a coffee and cake, or a light lunch - plus I want to go back to try one of their cupcakes that are super yummy!
